This one has never left Delhi. 5 neighbourhoods, 41 km of short journeys , a different kind of tour, and not a lesser one.
Five corners of the same city
Why it was let go
I have watched this book go round my own city for six months, which was not the plan. I expected an airport. Instead it has been to a barber shop in Karol Bagh and a rooftop in Nizamuddin.
It turns out you do not need a passport to have a journey.

Bench outside the Central Park entrance
Their review
Left it on the bench with the plate facing up. Gone in under an hour, which I did not expect. -

Barber shop, waiting chair
My cousin left this at the shop. I read it between customers over about three weeks. Themiddle section is very sad. Customers started asking about it.
Left for whoever came next Ask for it at the shop if you want it. It is not going far. -

Rooftop, after the qawwali
Someone handed it to me outside the dargah on a Thursday night. I read the first hundred pages on the roof before it got too dark.

Second-hand stall, Sunday market
Spotted it in a pile at the market and nearly bought it before I saw the plate. Left it for someone else. Told the stallholder what it was and he seemed delighted.

Metro, Yellow Line, seat by the door
Found it on the metro. Read the whole thing in nine days. I have never finished a book that fast and I am not sure I am recovered.
Left for whoever came next It has been round this city for months. Keep it moving. Do not take it to another city — I want to see how long it can stay home.
The next stop hasn't happened yet.
